Welcome to this new part of the ‘Inspirational Hexies’ blog serie! If you missed last weeks post with the herbarium theme, you can find it here. This week we are going from a green world into a blue one. Dive under water with me and experience the ocean! I was super excited for this theme, because, even though we don’t have the ocean nearby, I absolutely love learning about it and I hope I can make you excited about the sea too!

Welkom bij het volgende deel van de ‘Inspirational Hexies’ blogserie! Als je de post van vorige week met het herbarium thema hebt gemist, kan je die hier vinden. Deze week gaan we van een groene wereld naar een blauwe. Duik met me mee onder water en ervaar de zee! Ik had super veel zin in dit thema, want ook al is er bij ons geen zee in de buurt, ik houd er echt van alles over de zee te leren en ik hoop dat ik jullie er ook enthousiast over kan maken! 

Moodboard / Inspiratiebord

For the moodboard I used magazine cut-outs, an art book, a bowl of self-collected shells from Portugal, some shade cards and some Catona Cutie Pies* and Stone Washed balls from the Colour Pack*.

Voor het sfeerbord heb ik magazine plaatjes gebruikt, een kunstboek, een schaal met zelf gevonden schelpen uit Portugal, wat staalkaartjes en wat Catona Cutie Pies* en Stone Washed bolletjes van de Colour Pack*.  

The artbook is full of contemporary art, curated by Hi-fructose Magazine. I love to collect art books and browse through them. Certainly when they are full with gems like this <3 The artwork I showed is from Chris Berens and I will hightlight his work next week!

Het kunstboek staat vol met hedendaagse kunst, verzameld door Hi-Fructose Magazine. Ik vind het super leuk om kunstboeken te verzamelen en ze door te kijken. Zeker als ze vol staan met pareltjes zoals deze <3 Het kunstwerk op het sfeerbord is van Chris Berens en ik zal zijn werk volgende week verder uitlichten! 

The hexie / De hexie

For this ocean ‘Inspirational Hexie’ I have gone with jellyfish. Why? They are fascinating creatures and I know they are often associated with stinging, but did you know that there is an ‘immortal jellyfish’ that is known to regenerate its whole body?! That’s just amazing. You can read more about it here. For the yarn I used 9 rounds of different colors of Catona Cutie Pies from my Scheepjes Studio Pack*. You can find the used colors below.

Voor deze zee ‘Inspirational Hexie’ heb ik gekozen voor kwallen. Waarom? Ze zijn fascinerend en ik weet dat ze vaak worden geassocieerd met steken, maar wist je dat er een ‘onsterfelijke kwal’ is die zijn hele lichaam kan regenereren?! Dat is gewoon ongelofelijk. Je kan er hier meer over lezen. Ik heb 9 rondes verschillende kleuren Catona Cutie Pies gebruikt uit mijn Scheepjes Studio Pack*. Je kunt de gebruikte kleuren hieronder vinden.
