Crochet Inspiration Board / Haakinspiratie Bord

To Pom or not to Pom. That has been on a lot of crocheters mind when finishing a shawl. I have seen a lot of these questions in crochet groups last year. How do you feel about adding a pompom, tassle or other dotty edge to your crochet work? I do think it looks very festive and adds a finishing touch to some crochet items!

And if you really don’t want anything hanging of the ends of your shawl, you can always still consider doing a popcorn border!

Yarns / Garens

Which yarns are most suitable for poms and tassels?

I do feel for tassels it’s nice to have some weight to the yarn so they drape nicely. So a cotton or cotton mix like would do the trick like Scheepjes Catona*.

For pompoms, I do feel that acrylic works very well, like Scheepjes Colour Crafter*.

If you want to make your own tassels or poms, please consider buying your Scheepjes yarn via one of the links below. It will give me a small commission, but it won’t cost you anything extra. This way I can keep making posts like these : )
