I am popping on the blog with exciting news about a new release!
Last year I released the Migrations shawl in collaboration with Plyful and now I am finally ready to release it myself. I have been sitting on this pattern since last Fall, but as you might know, I have been struggling with burnout.
Now I am slowly feeling better, I felt it was time to work on this pattern release. But I wanted this release to be extra special. I have thought about doing another CAL/read-along, but I wanted to look for something quieter. Something more sustainable for those of you who want less time on a screen and more time enjoying their own company. For those of you who think the whole keeping up with a CAL can be rather stressful, especially when the holiday season is already so busy.
Something for people who’d love to travel or go on a retreat, but are unable to do so.
Something for people (probably you) who love to read and crochet and love to be in their own company.

Ik kom even op de blog om je leuk nieuws te vertellen over mijn allernieuwste release!
Vorig jaar heb ik de Migrations shawl al uitgebracht in samenwerking met Plyful en nu ben ik er eindelijk klaar voor om deze ook zelf uit te brengen. Ik zit al op dit patroon sinds herfst vorig jaar, maar zoals je misschien weet heb ik te maken gehad met een heftige burnout.
De afgelopen periode ben ik me steeds beter gaan voelen en het voelde goed om met de release aan de slag te gaan. Maar ik wilde ook dat deze release extra speciaal zou worden. Ik dacht eerst aan een nieuwe CAL/leesclub, maar ik zocht eigenlijk naar iets stillers. Iets wat ook houdbaar is voor mensen die minder op een scherm willen zitten en meer tijd in hun eigen bubbel. Die dat hele online CAL gedoe maar vermoeiend vinden, zeker rond de feestmaanden.
Iets voor mensen die het geweldig zouden vinden om te reizen of op een retreat te gaan, maar dit niet kunnen.
Iets voor mensen (jij waarschijnlijk ook) die houden van lezen en haken en zich comfortabel voelen in hun eigen gezelschap.
Dus ik dacht en ik dacht. En dit is het eindresultaat…

Een haak en boek kit om jezelf onder te dompelen in het verhaal van Charlotte McConagy’s Vlucht (migrations in het engels). Reis naar het einde van de wereld en volg de laatste grote migratie van de Noordse sternen, net zoals de hoofdpersoon. Maar dan zonder ooit je warme, fijne thuis te hoeven verlaten. Een Noordpool outfit heb je niet nodig!
Een een-persoons retreat om nader tot jezelf te komen, terwijl je bezig bent met wat je het allerliefste doet.
Verlies jezelf in de steken; de veervormen, de zachte rimpelingen, de golvende patronen. Kom terug naar jezelf na die drukke feestdagen. Dit is een feestje, alleen voor jou!

Charlotte McConaghy’s Migrations in paperback edition (order options: English, Dutch or no book)
The Dutch book (Vlucht) has an alternative cover from the sampe picture.
Bag
This bag will function as project bag and a handy household staple! It is made from undyed fairtrade oeko-tex cotton, printed with a design exclusively made for this kit and has long handles to sling over your shoulder. This will hold your yarn and book nicely and can also be used after the project is done!
The bag measures 38x42cm (15×16.5″).
Crochet Pattern
The printed instructions contain detailed step-by-step photos next to the high-quality written instructions and full crochet charts (order options: English (US terms) or Dutch). Access to a free digital copy will also be provided upon receiving the kit.
What you will also need for this project
There are a few things that are NOT INCLUDED in the kit, because most crocheters already have them on hand and I do not wish to add things that are not used due to the ecological theme of the story:
* 24 stitch markers (instructions will also include how to make markers from waste yarn if you do not have them on hand)
* A 4mm crochet hook (or other size to obtain gauge)
* Thread clippers, a darning needle and blocking materials

Tas
Deze tas functioneert als projecttas en is ook een handige alleskunner voor boodschappen, etc.
Hij is gemaakt van ongeverfd fairtrade oeko-tex katoen, met een exclusieve print erop. Hij heeft lange hengsels zodat je hem handig over je schouder kunt slaan. Deze tas is ruim genoeg voor je garen en het boek en kan je nog lang gebruiken nadat je klaar bent met de shawl!

Haakpatroon
De geprinte instructies bevatten stap-voor-stap foto’s naast de hoge kwaliteit geschreven instructies en volledige haakdiagrammen. (bestel opties: Engels (US), of Nederlands) Nadat je de kit hebt ontvangen, krijg je ook nog toegang tot een gratis digitale kopie.
Wat je verder nodig hebt voor dit project
Er zijn een aantal dingen die je nodig hebt die NIET in de kit zitten, omdat de meeste hakers dit al hebben en ik niet wens nog meer dingen toe te voegen die onnodig zijn (ook ivm het ecologische thema van het verhaal):
* 24 stekenmarkeerders (instructies over hoe je van restgaren markeerders maakt is bijgevoegd)
* Een 4mm haaknaald (of andere maat om tot de juiste stekenverhouding te komen)
* Schaartje, wolnaald en materiaal om op te spannen.

The kit is sourced repsonsibly in line with the environmental en ecological theme of the story. This means that kits are exclusively made to order, sustainable materials are used when possible and there are no unnecesary items added.
SHIPPING, DELIVERY, DUTIES AND TAX
Kits will be shipped with all duties and tax paid up front, so no surprises at the door!
Timeline
Pre-order: Until 1 November!
Collection 2-8 November
After the pre-order window is closed, items for the kits are collected.
Assembly 9-22 November
Kits are assembled with care, making sure each customer gets what they ordered.
Shipping 23 November – 6 December
All kits are shipped from The Netherlands, starting with those that have the longest shipping time.
