Today is reveal day of my latest pattern: the Plum Trees and Bees shawl : D

Vandaag is de dag dat ik mijn nieuwste patroon onthul: de Plum Trees and Bees shawl : D

Inspiration / Inspiratie

Imagine: bees buzzing in the plum orchards. The trees are bathed in the sun. You hear the low hum of the bees buzzing overhead while walking under the plum trees. Their furry bodies full of yellow pollen, flying to and from the hive to deliver the sweet nectar of the plum blossom. A flicker of light shows their iridescent wings. You look up and the sun is filtered through the thick white blossoming clouds. A light breeze touches your skin. This is Spring in its essence <3

Stel je voor: bijen zoemen in de pruimenboomgaarden. De bomen baden in de zon. Je hoort de lage bromtoon van de zoemende bijen boven je, terwijl je onder de pruimenbomen door loop. Hun donzige lijfjes vol met gele pollen. Ze vliegen van en naar het nest om het zoete nectar van de pruimenbloesem af te geven. Een flikkerend licht laat hun iriserende vleugels zien. Je kijkt op en de zon is gefilterd door de dikke witte bloesemwolken. Een lichte bries aait je huid. Dit is de Lente in zijn essentie <3 

About the pattern / Over dit patroon

The triangular shawl has a repeated pattern of plum blossom and bees. The shawl is a hug over your shoulders and the finished size is 167cm/66.8” wide and 76cm/30.4” deep. The used stitches aren’t really difficult and pictures are provided.
The pattern will be part of my Poetry Collection and it will also be completely free on my blog! If you rather work offline, or if you want to support me as a designer, I will also offer a PDF version at a small fee.

De driehoekige shawl heeft een herhaald patroon van pruimenbloesem en bijen. De shawl voelt als een knuffel over je schouders en is 167cm wijd en 76cm diep. De steken zijn niet erg moeilijk en foto’s ervan worden in het patroon getoond.
Het patroon wordt onderdeel van mijn Poetry Collectie en hij zal helemaal gratis op mijn blog te vinden zijn! Maar als je liever offline werkt of als je me wilt steunen als ontwerper zal ik ook een PDF versie beschikbaar stellen tegen een kleine vergoeding. 

Yarn / Garen

The shawl is worked with one cake of Scheepjes Whirligig* in the colour Plum to Ochre (210). One cake is 450 grams and 1000 meters and consists of a DK weight yarn in 80% virgin wool and 20% Alpaca.
Some of my testers used Scheepjes Whirl* instead of Whirligig, which is also 1000m per cake, but is thinner and suited for 2.5-3.5mm hook. So your shawl will end up smaller.

De shawl wordt gehaakt met één cake van Scheepjes Whirligig* in de kleur Plum to Ochre (210). Eén cake is 450 gram en 1000 meter en bestaat uit een dikker garen voor de 3,5-4mm haaknaald met een draad van 80% scheerwol en 20% alpaca.
Sommige van mijn testers hebben Scheepjes Whirl* gebruikt in plaats van Whirligig. Dit garen is ook 1000m per cake, maar het is dunner en geschikt voor 2,5-3,5mm haaknaald. Dus als je hiermee werkt, krijg je een kleinere shawl.
