Intro
This pattern is part of the Poetry Collection. Find all patterns in this collection here.
Imagine: bees buzzing in the plum orchards. The trees are bathed in the sun. You hear the low drone of the bees humming overhead while walking under the plum trees. Their furry bodies full of yellow pollen, flying to and from the hive to deliver the sweet nectar of the plum blossom. A flicker of light shows their iridescent wings. You look up and the sun is filtered through the thick white blossoming clouds. A light breeze touches your skin. This is Spring in its essence <3

Yarn
1 cake of Scheepjes Whirligig in color 210 ‘Plum to Ochre’* (20% Alpaca x 80% Virgin Wool, 450g/1000m)
If you don’t have a retailer nearby, please consider buying the yarn for this shawl via one of the links below. It will give me a small commission, but it won’t cost you anything extra. This way I can keep making free patterns : )
- UK/International: Wool Warehouse or Black Sheep Wools
- Benelux: Caro’s Atelier
- List of all / Lijst van alle Scheepjes retailers: Scheepjes website
Using Scheepjes Whirl instead of Whirligig: you can use Scheepjes Whirl* instead of Whirligig, but it is advised to use a hook that suits this thinner yarn, because otherwise it will result in stitches that are too loose.

Notions
- 4 mm (G) hook
- Thread clippers and darning needle
Gauge & Size
Gauge: After row 12, your triangle should measure approximately 29cm/11.6” wide and 14cm/5.6” deep before blocking.
Finished size: 167cm/66.8” wingspan and 76cm/30.4” deep after blocking.
Notes & Helpful Tips
- Turning chains don’t count as a st.
- The middle ch-sp that makes the lowest point of the triangle will be referred to as point-sp and is not mentioned in the stitch counts.
- Raise the loops of the puff-st high, to make sure the puffs end up thick enough.
