Original colorways / Originele kleurcombinaties

I have worked together with Scheepjes to create 4 colorways in Scheepjes Stone Washed/River Washed and Colour Crafter. Because there could be little to no color overlap between colorways, it was quite a challenge to create them. I started off playing with a few combinations and originally created a few colorways in Scheepjes Softfun, Scheepjes Cotton 8 and Sunkissed. Below you can find the very first draft of the colorways for the Scheepjes kits.
Ik heb samengewerkt met Scheepjes om 4 kleurcombinaties te maken in Scheepjes Stone Washed/River Washed en Colour Crafter. Omdat er weinig tot geen kleuroverlap mocht zijn tussen de kleurcombinaties, was het een enorme puzzel om deze te maken. Ik begon met het spelen met verschillende combinaties en mijn originele idee was ook nog met Softfun, Scheepjes Cotton 8 en Sunkissed. Hieronder vind je de allereerste poging van de kleurcombinaties voor de Scheepjes kits.

As you can see there are even two colorways, ‘Hothouses’ and a second ‘Herbarium’ version, that never made it as a final kit.
Zoals je kunt zien zijn er zelfs twee kleurcombinaties, ‘Hothouses’ en een tweede ‘Herbarium’, die het niet hebben gehaald als kit.

From these first drafts, Scheepjes and I decided to create four colorways in two yarns (Stone/River Washed and Colour Crafter). You can see the first version and their inspiration in the file below.
Van deze eerste opzet, hebben Scheepjes en ik besloten om vier kleurcombinaties te maken in twee garens (Stone/River Washed en Colour Crafter). Je ziet deze eerste versie en hun inspiratie in het bestand hieronder.

The final CAL colorways/ De uiteindelijke CAL kleurcombinaties

Below you’ll see the final CAL colorways. There are subtle differences between the final and original colorways. Only the Herbarium version stayed the same.
Hieronder zie je de uiteindelijke CAL kleurcombinaties. Er zijn subtiele verschillen tussen de uiteindelijke en originele kleurcombinaties. Alleen de Herbarium versie is hetzelfde gebleven.

I am working together with two of my favorite online yarn stores: Wool Warehouse* (UK and International shipping) and Caro’s Atelier* (Benelux and International shipping) for this new and exclusive colorway called ‘Lepidoptera’. It is inspired by those blue and black butterflies and I am absolutely IN LOVE!

Ik werk samen met twee van mijn favoriete online garenwinkels: Wool Warehouse* (UK en internationale verzending) en Caro’s Atelier* (Benelux en internationale verzending) voor deze nieuwe en exclusieve kleurencombinatie die ‘lepidoptera’ heet. Hij is geïnspireerd op die blauwzwarte vlinders en ik ben echt helemaal VERLIEFD!

The very first blanket / De allereerste deken

As you can imagine, this blanket took a few years to develop and the first version looked even more different than what you’ve seen so far, especially from chapter 4 and up. Nobody ever saw this version up until now. Here are a few of the pictures of that very first version. I made it with Scheepjes Colour Crafter. Can you spot the differences? 😉
Zoals je je kunt voorstellen heeft het een paar jaar geduurd om deze deken te ontwerpen en de eerste versie ziet er nog anders uit dan wat je tot zover hebt gezien, vooral vanaf hoofdstuk 4. Niemand heeft deze foto’s ooit gezien. Zie ze hieronder. Deze eerste versie is gemaakt met Scheepjes Colour Crafter. Spot jij de verschillen? 😉

Because I wanted the insects to be true to nature and I had eight different color kits and three different insects to work with, it felt like a giant puzzle. But I am very proud and happy with the end result. Below you’ll see the inspiration for each kit colorway!
