Each year there are two craft fairs I attend and one of which is the Handwerkbeurs. You might have seen from the pictures in my Instagram Stories that I was there last Sunday with Carmen from New Leaf Designs. It was arranged for us to have our own little corner where we could display our designs and had quite a few people come to us and fondle our scarfs, shawls and, in Carmen’s case, super cute birds! Below you can see one of those birds. Unfortunately I didn’t take pictures of those myself.

Elk jaar zijn er twee handwerk/garen beurzen waar ik naar toe ga en een daarvan is de Handwerkbeurs. Je hebt misschien aan de foto’s in mijn Instagram Stories al gezien dat ik daar afgelopen zondag was met Carmen van New Leaf Designs. Ze hadden voor ons geregeld dat we ons eigen hoekje hadden waar we onze ontwerpen konden uitstallen en er kwamen dan ook een aantal mensen naar ons toe om de sjaals en omslagdoeken, en in Carmen’s geval, haar super schattige vogels te bewonderen!  Hieronder zie je een van die vogels. Helaas had ik er zelf geen foto’s van gemaakt.

There was a lot to be seen and there really wasn’t enough time to look at everything. Next to a lot of yarn stands, there were also stands for quilting, sewing and embroidery (to name a few). However, we only had time to visit the yarn stands, so I don’t have pictures of the awesome quilts that were on display :/

Er was heel veel te zien en er was dan ook niet genoeg tijd om alles goed te bekijken. Naast dat er veel garenkramen waren, waren er ook kramen voor quilten, naaien en borduren (om maar een paar te noemen). Helaas hadden we alleen tijd om de garenkramen te bekijken, dus ik heb geen foto’s van de prachtige quilts die we hebben gezien :/ 

I really love to go to these fairs, because it’s so inspiring, buzzing with energy and fun to go to. This time it was also a opportunity to meet up with another Scheepjes blogger and that makes it extra special. Especially since I don’t have crochet/knitting friends close by. It’s also the time to visit the nice standholders, one of which is Sylvia from Wol Met Verve. I visit her stand each time I’m at a fair. Her stand is in the picture above.

Ik vind het echt super leuk naar deze beurzen te gaan, omdat het zo ontzettend inspireert, vibreert van de energie en gewoon leuk is om naar toe te gaan. Dit keer was het ook de mogelijkheid om samen te komen met een andere Scheepjes blogger en dat maakt het nog specialer. Zeker omdat ik zelf geen haak/brei vrienden dichtbij heb. Het is ook de tijd om de leuke kraamhouders te bezoeken, zoals Sylvia van Wol Met Verve. Die bezoek ik elke keer sowieso als ik op een beurs ben. Haar kraam staat op de foto hierboven. 

And as far as my loot goes… I have only bought new knitting supplies, so sorry for all the crocheters now reading this. I got a complete new set of ChiaoGoo knitting needles (the Mercedes under the knitting needles), because it really was time for a new set. I tested them at home straight away, and it’s true what they say. There’s just nothing like it! I got them from Batts&Threads (photo above) and they were super nice to help me put together my own set. I also got cable needles from them, because I’m planning to make a cabled sweater.

En wat betreft mijn eigen aankopen… Ik heb alleen nieuwe breibenodigdheden gekocht, dus excuses voor alle haaksters die dit nu lezen. Ik heb een nieuwe set ChiaoGoo breinaalden gekocht (de Mercedes onder de breinaalden), want het was tijd voor een nieuwe set. Thuis heb ik ze gelijk uitgetest en het is echt waar, er is gewoon niks beters! Ik kocht ze van Batts&Threads (foto hierboven) en ze waren super behulpzaam om mijn eigen combinaties samen te stellen. Verder heb ik bij hen ook nog kabelnaalden gehaald, omdat ik plannen heb voor een gekabelde trui.

At Cross&Woods they had amazing tweed yarns, which I did not buy, but I did get new stitch markers from Merchant&Mills (bulb pins, which you can open and close) and a sweater quantity of biological wool in an oatmeal color. I know, not very exciting, but those items were on my list for a long time and I can’t wait to play with them 🙂

Bij Cross&Woods hadden ze prachtig tweed garen, wat ik niet kocht, maar ik kocht daar wel nieuwe stekenmarkeerders van Merchant&Mills (‘bulb pins’ die je kunt openen en sluiten) en biologische wol in een havermout kleur voor een trui. Ik weet het, niet echt opwindend, maar deze items stonden al heel lang op mijn lijstje en ik kan niet wachten om ermee te spelen 🙂 

I am already looking forward to the next fair!
