Scheepjes has released a new yarn called Scheepjes Whirligig*. It’s enourmous, squishy, soft and beautiful <3 When it first came out, I knew I wanted to design something with it.

Scheepjes heeft een nieuw garen uitgebracht, Scheepjes Whirligig*. Het is enorm, wollig, zacht en prachtig <3 Toen het net uit was, wist ik al gelijk dat ik er iets mee wilde ontwerpen. 

Let me tell you why I am so excited! Just like Scheepjes Whirl* the new yarn comes in big gradient cakes. But there’s a big difference. Whirl is a fingering weight cotton/acrylic mix with a 1000 meters per cake. Whirligig is quite a bit bigger because it is also a 1000 meters cake, but in a DK weight yarn of 80% wool and 20% alpaca <3 So there’s quite a lot to work with!

Laat me je uitleggen waarom ik zo enthousiast ben! Net als Scheepjes Whirl* komt het nieuwe garen in grote kleurverloop ‘cakes’. Maar er is wel een groot verschil. Whirl is een katoen/acryl mix voor 3mm naald en één cake bevat 1000 meter. Een Whirligig cake is een stuk groter en dikker, want ook deze cakes bevatten 1000 meter, maar het is een dikker garen voor de 4mm naald en de draad is gemaakt van 80% scheerwol en 20% alpaca <3 Dus er is genoeg om mee te werken!  

The yarn comes in fifteen colorways, but when I saw this color, which is called ‘Plum to ochre’, I knew instantly what I wanted to make with it. Sometimes it’s the yarn that’s inspiring : )

Het garen is verkrijgbaar in vijftien verschillende kleurvariaties, maar toen ik deze kleur zag, ‘Plum to ochre’ genaamd, wist ik gelijk wat ik er mee wilde maken. Soms is het juist het garen wat mij inspireert : )

I couldn’t wait so I made a swatch as soon as I got my hand on the yarn <3 I can already say that it is super nice to work with! I hope to show pictures of the WIP soon!
