Inspiration & Links

The scarf is inspired by the stems and spore pods of moss. I tried to mimic these elements by using front post stitches and small popcorn stitches on a background of moss-stitch. To make it a little bit more light weight, I used chain-2 between the sc, instead of chain-1. This gives it a beautiful drape <3

The Pattern

Setup Using Scheepjes Our Tribe and a 3.5mm hook, ch46.

Note: mind the last st you need to skip before the ribbing, count your stitches.

R3 1sc in first st, 1blsc in next 6 st, (1sc in next ch-sp, ch2, sk next st) 15 times, 1sc in last ch-sp, 1blsc in next 6 st, 1sc in last st, ch1, turn. [30 sc, 15 ch-sp]

Important, please read:

  • Work the tr in front of the rest of your work {pic 2}.
  • When working a tr, or any other st in front of the rest of your work, you automatically sk the ch-sp behind it, pic 3 shows where to work the next sc into.

Note: When working the first row after a row containing (fp)tr or 3fpdc-pop, work the sc before and after the (fp)tr or 3fpdc-pop in the ch-sp and in the back loop of the sc below, see pic 1-2. This prevents gapping around the (fp)tr or 3fpdc-pop.
