Did you know that moss blooms? I never did until recently. Maybe you recognize the delicate stems that pop up from the pillowy moss, but never gave it a second thought. These little stems contain spore pods. The spores are released to grow more moss. So what does this have to do with a crochet scarf you ask? Well, it was the inspiration for my latest design: the Blooming Moss Scarf : D
Wist je dat mossen bloeien? Ik wist dat tot voor kort niet. Misschien herken je wel de kwetsbare stelen die omhoog schieten van het kussenachtige mos, maar heb je er verder geen gedachten aan geschonken. Deze kleine steeltjes bevatten sporendozen. Deze sporen worden losgelaten om nieuw mos te groeien. Maar wat heeft dit te maken met een gehaakte sjaal, vraag je? Nou, het is de inspiratie geweest voor mijn nieuwste ontwerp: de Blooming Moss Scarf : D
In my previous post, I already told you I wanted to work with moss as an inspiration and that it was a perfect match with my Scheepjes Our Tribe* A Spoonful of Yarn colorway. I am happy the yarn and stitch pattern turned out to work perfectly together : )
In mijn vorige post, vertelde ik je al dat ik met mos als inspiratie wilde werken en dat dit een perfecte match was met mijn Scheepjes Our Tribe A Spoonful of Yarn kleurstelling. Ik ben blij dat het garen en stekenpatroon uiteindelijk zo goed bij elkaar werken : )

I thought it was suitable to use a moss stitch for this scarf. To make it more lightweight, I used a chain-2 between the sc instead of chain-1.
Ik vond het wel toepasselijk om een mos-steek te gebruiken voor deze sjaal. Om de sjaal wel lichter te houden, heb ik 2 lossen tussen de vasten gehaakt in plaats van 1 losse.
The scarf will be part of my Poetry Collection, in this case I will add a tanka (a Japanese poetry form) for some extra inspiration : )
De sjaal wordt onderdeel van mijn Poetry Collectie. In dit geval zal ik een tanka toevoegen (een Japanse dichtvorm) voor wat extra inspiratie : )
