I needed those words SO badly! Someone who said to me, you are enough. Go follow your dreams! Don’t stand in the way of your own happiness. Don’t listen to that little voice inside your head that says ‘you can’t do it’, ‘you’re not good enough’.
Because the truth is, I really didn’t think I had it in me to design in the first place.
I recognize it’s very scary to put yourself out there. To start something new. To invest in yourself. So I want to be your Marinke!
I am saying to you right now: GO FOR IT!
But Christina… I don’t think I can design! When I look at all my favorite designers, I feel like I could never design like that…
Let me ask you this.
Do you think all the crochet designers that you admire started with showstoppers from the beginning?
Do you think the first thing they released was an instant hit?
Do you really think they stopped themselves from following their crochet design dream by saying they don’t have the talent?
Let me tell you something. It took me NINE designs before the Hotel of Bees shawl. It was my big breakthrough…
If I decided to stop designing (or not even start), because those other 8 didn’t get attention, then I wouldn’t be here today. It’s as simple as that.
So don’t let these thoughts stop you either!
I’m sorry but I feel it’s SUCH A SHAME if you keep yourself from following your dreams by having these thoughts that are not helping you in any way.
Within you is the potential to create amazing things.
Do you know what you need to dip into that potential?
