You wouldn’t tell, but I’ve been very busy lately (and still am). In march I have an exam coming up for my tailoring class. I still have to get a lot of stuff done before that, so I don’t have much time working on other hobbies. Between drawing sewing patterns, and sewing clothes to show for the exam, there is luckily still a bit time left to work on socks 🙂
A few weeks ago I ordered this gorgeous skein of yarn from the website of eaden yarns, and last week it arrived! I can’t remember a time when it took me so long to cast something on after receiving the yarn! I was so busy with exam preparations, knitting socks for my boyfriend, and on top of it all my mother visited last weekend, which was really nice. These things all kept me from casting on new socks.
Last Monday I finished these babies, and my boyfriend is really pleased with them 🙂
It was my first go at a fleegle heel, and I am very happy with how they turned out.
Because I couldn’t wait any longer, I casted my socks on last night. It’s the ginkgo socks pattern by Kyoko. A perfect pattern for someone who wants to up their skill level I think. I’ve never knitted from a pattern chart before, but so far so good 🙂
The only downside is, that it takes me ages to finish a pattern row! I hope I will pick up speed as I go along.
It’s so cool to see the pattern come more alive after every row 🙂 It makes me so happy! Because I’ve been so busy, I didn’t work at my crochet version of the mini skein wonders. I’ve got a lot of thinking to do, what kind of closure to use, and in what fashion. I hope to get some more free time when the exams are over.
