Fresh Leaves Shawl

My crochet year started with the Fresh leaves shawl. A free pattern inspired on the first tree leaves of Spring. I always like the beginning of Spring, because you can see the light shift from hard blue to a warming hue, because the new tree leaves filter the light so nicely.

Mijn haakjaar startte met de Fresh leaves shawl. Een gratis patroon geïnspireerd op de eerste blaadjes van de lente. Ik vind het begin van de lente zo fijn, omdat je het licht kan zien verschuiven van hard blauw naar een warmere tint, omdat de nieuwe boomblaadjes het licht zo fijntjes filteren.

Plum Trees & Bees shawl

The second free pattern I released was the Plum trees and Bees shawl using the lush Scheepjes Whirligig* <3 I made this shawl inspired by the bees buzzing overhead in a fully blossoming plumtree orchard and the colorway of the yarn goes absolutely perfect with it!

Het tweede gratis patroon die ik publiceerde was de Plum trees and Bees shawl. Ik maakte hem met het super zachte Scheepjes Whirligig* garen <3 De shawl is geïnspireerd op de bijen die over je hoofd zoemen als je door een pruimenboomgaard loopt die vol in bloei staat. De kleur van het garen past er perfect bij!

History of Bees read with me CAL

The most exciting period of my crochet year was the read with me CAL : ) As you might know I am planning to do a yearly read with me CAL, meaning that I pick a book as inspiration and design a pattern with it, which we can crochet together, while also reading the book : ) Last year I did it with the History of Trees shawl and the book ‘Barkskins’ by Annie Proulx and this year it was time for the History of Bees shawl and the book ‘History of Bees’ by Maja Lunde. I had so much fun doing the CAL and saw so many beautiful versions of the shawl <3 Below I have shared some photo’s made by people during the CAL. The last one even turned it into a blanket : 0

De leukste periode van mijn haakjaar was de read with me CAL : ) Zoals je misschien weet plan ik elk jaar een read with me CAL: ik kies een boek voor inspiratie en ontwerp daarmee een patroon die we samen kunnen haken, terwijl we samen ook het boek lezen : ) Vorig jaar deed ik de CAL met de History of Trees shawl en het boek ‘Schorshuiden’ van Annie Proulx en dit jaar was het tijd voor de History of Bees shawl en het boek ‘de geschiedenis van de bijen’ van Maja Lunde. Ik heb zo veel plezier gehad en ik heb zo ontzettend veel mooie shawls voorbij zien komen <3 Hieronder heb ik wat foto’s geplaatst van een aantal van de deelnemers van de CAL. De laatste heeft er zelfs een deken mee gemaakt : 0

Little Maple Cardi

I closed off my crochet year with the Little Maple Cardi, modeled here by my sister. A spin on the Maple Leaf Cardigan, using the very thick Scheepjes Chunky monkey*, it is a very very quick make! Inspired by beautiful Fall and all its special features <3

Ik heb mijn haakjaar afgesloten met de Little Maple Cardi, hier getoond door mijn zusje. Een variatie op de Maple Leaf Cardigan, maar gemaakt met het dikke Scheepjes Chunky Monkey* garen, waardoor het een heeeeeel snel project is! Geïnspireerd op de herfst en al haar bijzondere verschijningen <3

2020

So what’s in store for 2020? I will continue to design for my Read With Me Collection and Poetry Collection. And of course come up with a new Read With Me CAL : ) Looking back to 2019 I feel that I am still searching for a more uniform style and hopefully I will find it in 2020 : ) Thank you for a wonderful year and don’t forget to make use of the self-love sale : D
