Edit: You can find the pattern for the Watercolor Granny Blanket here!

As I showed you in this post I was working on a granny square project using left over yarn from my Inspirational Hexies Blanket, which uses the Scheepjes Catona Colour Pack* and the Scheepjes Stone Washed and River Washed Colour Pack*. I can now finally reveal the whole blanket : D

All those colors together make me SO happy <3 And what makes me even more happy, is that the recipient, a pregnant co worker, was over the moon with this blanket. A double win: stash busting AND making someone happy with my crochet : )

The squares are worked ‘join-as-you-go’ meaning that you don’t have to sew a gazzilion squares together afterwards. It also alows you to instantly see the result of your hard work : ) And what’s best: you can just keep adding squares until you’ve used up all of your leftovers : D

To finish off the blanket, I’ve designed two different borders: one floral border and one ribbed border. I think the white really makes the colors pop!

Like I said before, I made this blanket with scraps of Scheepjes Catona Colour Pack* and the Scheepjes Stone Washed and River Washed Colour Pack*. For the border I used 1.5 balls of Scheepjes Stonewashed.

  • So beautiful! I can see it in a cardi or pullover too, since the squares are small enough, and simple enough to accommodate shaping. Thanks for all your wonderful ideas! 🙂

  • Just stunning! Totally in love with your patterns and color choices! Please make some mood boards! You’re very talented with color!

  • Making this with the remnants of your Rainbow Shawl pattern, which everyone admires. What a great idea. Good to add to to on the move! Thanks from the windy Isle of Wight, UK.
